Step 2:
Your requested provider will reply to your inquiry via your preferred contact method within 24-48 business hours. At that time, we will briefly discuss your availability and presenting problem to determine if we are a good therapeutic fit. Then your provider will send an email invitation to create a patient portal login where you will complete the new client intake forms. It is best to view and complete this documentation on a computer or laptop as the format may not be compatible with mobile devices.
Step 3:
Your clinician will schedule your first therapy appointment and answer any questions you may have about the intake documentation or therapeutic process.
Please note: Session fees are collected at the time of service, and we require a card on file to process payment. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us directly or call us. We look forward to working with you!
During our first session, we will review any questions you may have concerning the new client intake paperwork and discuss confidentiality and its limits within the therapy setting. We will explore what has brought you to counseling and identify your therapeutic goals. Together, we will create a personalized plan of action to address your mental health symptoms and reach your therapeutic aspirations.
Therapy sessions are approximately 45-50 minutes. Please discuss with your therapist if additional session time is needed. Accommodations will be made for emergencies or crisis situations.
Insurance
We do not accept insurance at this time and provide self-pay services only. You may be eligible for Out Of Network (OON) benefits through your insurance provider, which can help cover the cost of your psychotherapy services.
Reimbursement
We can provide you with a Superbill, which is a receipt listing services provided to you. A Superbill can be submitted to your insurance company to assist with possible reimbursement for Out of Network (OON) services upon eligibility.
Please note: Reimbursement eligibility is determined by your insurance company's terms and requirements and not by your clinician.
Therapy looks different for everyone - and that's okay! For some, therapy is a long-term commitment to wellness, while others may benefit from short-term care. The length of treatment will vary depending on your personal needs.
We offer weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly sessions for our clients. Please speak to your therapist to determine the session frequency that is best for your individual needs and therapeutic concerns.
Who benefits from Play Therapy?
Although people of all ages can benefit from Play Therapy, it’s most commonly used with children between the ages of 3 and 12.
Why Play?
Play is a child's natural language for communicating with the world around them.
Children engage in play to express their feelings, explore their fears, understand the world and solve problems they encounter. Toys act as symbols that can take on greater meaning. Since children can’t express themselves in the adult world, the therapist joins the child in their world - using their language of play. As children engage in Play Therapy, they may become more comfortable and begin to share their feelings with their therapist. Children aren’t pressured by the therapist and are allowed to open up in their own time using their own method of communication.
What is the process?
Play therapy will differ depending on the therapist and the unique needs of the child. To begin, the therapist may want to observe the child at play and will join the play if invited by the child. Observing the child at play allows the therapist to assess the child’s functioning, needs and strengths. The therapist may also conduct separate assessment interviews with the child, parents, teachers, or other significant adults in the child's life.
After a thorough assessment, the therapist will begin building trust with the child, set some therapeutic goals, decide on what limits may be necessary, and formulate a plan for how to help the child heal. Play therapists observe the child's play and use these observations as a guide for the therapeutic process. Our knowledgable providers are skilled in deciphering the meaning and themes of children’s play.
As therapy progresses, the child's behaviors and goals may be reassessed. The therapist may bring parents, siblings, or other family members into play therapy. This is known as Filial Therapy and it can help teach conflict resolution, promote healing, and improve family dynamics.
